Wells Touring Park, Somerset
Laura found some good cycling routes on Komoot for the area. Will ride on whatever day has sunshine!

Arrived about 5.30 after many detours cos Google wanted to take Beti down single farm lanes. Note to self: the better route is past Bristol Airport. See the map extract at the end.
Small Bar on site, we arrived too late to use it though. Wardens were having a after work drink but it's closed to the rest of the park users at 5 on Sun - Thurs. Fri & Sat open til 8.
Bar open every night, food only on last Friday night of the month.
Wooden animals dotted around the site.
Lovely site, well laid out.
As the bar was closed, I fancied a pint so we went into town. Found a pub then a nice meal at a Greek restaurant in Wells. Only half hour walk away. It's our first time here, it's quite nice so far.

Lashing down with rain last night, Lau didn't sleep very well. By the time we woke and got ready it was lovely weather so today is the day for a bike ride.
"Car free" is stretching it a bit! The first couple of miles had quite a lot of traffic, but most of it was very quiet. Halfway around the ride we stopped in Glastonbury town. Its full of hippy shops and people wearing tie dye and Doc Martens! Stopped in Heaphy's for a coffee and toasted sandwich.

We've ventured out to the on-site cafe/pub this evening. Large glass of Rose for me, a pint of cider for Lau. It's nice and cosy and they do food until 7:30 so we fancy fish and chips for tea tonight and will cook on the van tomorrow. Highly likely we'll return to this place again in the future.
We're planning on popping into Wells for a wander tomorrow morning. We might ride in as it's only about 1.5 miles.
Back to the van with a chippy dinner from the site van. Bit much for me as I got a bad belly now.
Considering a xmas break at Wells, they have a few nights available if we ask at reception. The other option would be Erwlon. That's always good as we met up with Jackie and Mark.
