Trip 8 - Erwlon (Apr 2022) 4*

Day 1 - Friday April 29th
A breakfast at Crossways to start our holiday! Next time, we should go somewhere different, like the Village Coffee Shop maybe?
We have been to Erwlon many times before. In the Bongo and the VW but this is the first time in Beti though.
Arrived at 12, 1hr 20 mins from the house. They put us on pitch E15, nice enough, next to a tree, close to the toilet block. Flat grass pitch.
We recently bought a new wind break, two chairs and storm straps for the awning.
It doubles our living area - in the nice weather at least! 😀
I wrapped the wind break around the front because our van already put that area in shade.
Sitting at the back we get the sun, but other campers will arrive soon so we may lose the privacy and open grass behind us unfortunately.
Our view ( at the moment!)
First van arrived and parked next to us. Then a little rat of a dog started yapping. Great.  Get it every day at home. GRRR
Haven't heard it in a while though. Maybe it ran away 🤔
Going to take a stroll into town soon.
Ideas for future plots to stay on?
1. Top field near the exit to Co op: grass pitch next to hedge on rhs.
2. Another good one faces the Co op just across the way from us. Opposite the toilets on top of the hill. It's a gravel pitch.
That night we went into town to the pub, and bumped into Jackie and Marc, had a few (quite a few!) and also watched a bit of the snooker on the telly in the pub. We met the landlady who gave us each a few free shots, then we went to the curry house. A good night out.
Day 2
Bike ride to Llangadoc.
Good ride that. Lau made some friends and did a bit of cow-whispering... a whole herd 🤣
We enjoyed the ride and had a nice relax when we got back at the van. I had a read on my kindle whilst watching the snooker. Mark Williams v Judd Trump. JT eventually won 17-16.
By now the site was jam packed. Theres also a marquee on site too, with a small acoustic set going on in the evening.
That night we were going to have a BBQ at the van, and Jackie & Marc were coming down but I thought it would be better if we went up to theirs. As we only had 2 seats, and not enough food so we took our stuff up to theirs instead.
We had acracking BBQ and saw two hot air balloons pass overhead - really low.
After the BBQ, we got back to site about 9.30 when it started to rain - heavily. We got in just in time.
Day 3
Last day, and Lau cooked a lovely breakfast. When she washed the dishes I took down the wind break, chairs and awning.
It's great this camping, we love it.
